It has been studied that higher levels of Vitamin D are associated with less severe Lupus disease activity. Vitamin D is one of the most common deficiencies seen through Lupus patients. ”Improving vitamin D status among patients with SLE may benefit other common manifestations, such as fatigue and cognitive dysfunction.”
Curcumin, a bioactive derivative of the spice turmeric, has been tested over the last several years for its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Curcumin helps Lupus patients by suppressing inflammation before it begins. Turmeric may prove useful for reducing oxidative stress, improving endothelial function or proteinuria in SLE.
Vitamin B12 is known as the energy vitamin because of its positive effects with fatigue. Its essential for hair, skin, and nail health.
